The LD-90 is a member of Omron’s LD series of autonomous mobile robots, now typically sold within the Omron mobile robot portfolio. The platform is designed to navigate by itself using a laser scanner and map of the facility, without requiring guides or markers in the floor. The 90 kg designation indicates the payload capacity, with a top plate or an optional cart, conveyor or lift system. A safety laser and sensors detect obstacles and slow or stop the vehicle and plan a path around them, while a battery provides several hours of operation with the ability to dock for automatic charging. Fleet management software coordinates multiple vehicles and integrates with production systems. Typical applications include transporting parts between workstations, supplying production lines, moving materials in electronics and automotive plants, and hospital logistics.
