The SFG-FMA3 is attributed to the soft finger gripper line of Rochu, a Chinese manufacturer of soft robotic grippers. A soft pneumatic gripper uses inflatable elastomer fingers that bend when pressurised, wrapping around the object with low contact force. This allows handling of fragile or irregularly shaped items such as food, fruit, glassware and electronic parts without damage. The grippers attach to robot flanges and are controlled by a simple air valve and regulator. Typical applications include food packaging, laboratory automation, logistics sorting and light assembly.
