EtherCAT Terminal Block System (EK1100 Bus Coupler with EL1008 / EL2008 slices)

The EK1100 is the EtherCAT coupler of Beckhoff’s EtherCAT Terminal range. It connects the EtherCAT fieldbus to the E-bus of terminals placed on a DIN rail, so up to many I/O terminals can be added in one station. The EL1008 is an eight-channel digital input terminal for 24 V DC signals with a 3 ms filter, and the EL2008 is an eight-channel digital output terminal with 24 V DC and 0.5 A per channel, both in a 12 mm wide housing. The terminals use spring-loaded connection and LED indicators for each channel. Power contacts supply field voltage through the terminal strip. Communication uses standard Ethernet cabling with RJ45 sockets, and the system supports fast cycle times with distributed clocks. Typical applications are remote I/O on machines, process plants, test benches and building systems, in combination with TwinCAT controllers or other EtherCAT masters.
