KISS 4U V3 SKX industrial rackmount server

The KISS 4U V3 SKX is a 19-inch, 4U rackmount industrial server from Kontron’s KISS (Kontron Industrial Server Solutions) line. It is based on the Intel C621 chipset and takes two Intel Xeon Scalable processors, with twelve DDR4-2666 DIMM slots for up to 768 GB of ECC memory. Seven PCIe 3.0 slots in x16 mechanical form allow several GPUs, frame grabbers or network cards, which suits it to image processing and AI workloads. Kontron designed the cooling concept for 24/7 operation with a noise level of 35 dBA or less, so the server can be placed near operators in labs and control rooms, and it is specified for operation up to 5,000 m altitude. Removable drive bays are provided at the front. Approvals include CE, FCC, UL 62368-1 and IEC 62368-1, with five-plus years of long-term availability at launch. Kontron now lists it as a legacy product succeeded by newer KISS 4U V3 platforms. Typical uses are high-end machine vision, SCADA and MES servers, simulation and machine-learning training at the edge.
