W22X explosion-proof and dust-ignition proof motor series

The W22X is WEG’s range of three-phase induction motors for hazardous areas, certified for use in explosive gas and dust atmospheres. The robust frame is designed to contain an internal explosion and to prevent ignition of the surrounding atmosphere, with fine fitted flame paths and certified cable entries. Motors are based on the W22 platform with high efficiency, inverter duty capability and sealed bearings. Typical applications include oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical plants, mining, grain handling and any area classified as Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 21 or Zone 22. Power ratings span a broad range from small fractional kW sizes to hundreds of kW.
