Explosion Proof Division 1 and Zone 1 severe duty motors

These are explosion proof AC motors from Baldor-Reliance designed for hazardous locations, specifically Class I Division 1 in North American practice, and Zone 1 under the IEC scheme. The motor enclosure is built strong enough to contain an internal explosion and to cool flame gases below the ignition temperature of the surrounding atmosphere. The frames are cast iron with heavy duty construction, and the motors are rated for severe duty with robust bearings, sealing and corrosion protection. Many models are available as three-phase induction motors in NEMA frame sizes, with certifications from UL, CSA and ATEX or IECEx depending on the type, and they can be used with drives if the certification allows.
