AB090 high-precision inline planetary gearboxes

The AB090 is a precision inline planetary gearbox from Apex Dynamics’ AB series, with a nominal 90 mm frame size. It is designed to be mounted directly on a servo motor to increase torque and reduce speed with minimal backlash. Typical backlash in the series is a few arc minutes, with lower backlash options available in some versions. The gearbox uses helical gear teeth in a planetary arrangement within a one-piece housing, which gives smooth operation, high torsional stiffness and good efficiency. It is offered in single-stage and two-stage versions with ratios from about 3 to 100, and with input adapters to fit many motor makes. The output is a keyed or smooth shaft with a flange. Lubrication is for life under normal use. Typical applications are packaging machines, robotics, CNC machinery, pick and place, semiconductor equipment and other positioning systems where precision and rigidity are important.
