Inductive Proximity Sensors
Inductive Proximity Sensors are non-contact solid-state sensing devices engineered to detect the presence of metallic target objects without physical contact by generating an high-frequency electromagnetic field at their sensing face. When a ferrous or non-ferrous metal object enters this magnetic field, eddy currents are induced in the target, dampening the oscillation amplitude and triggering the sensor’s switching output. Key hardware features typically include threaded nickel-plated brass or stainless steel cylindrical housings, potted epoxy potting for shock resistance, integrated LED switching status indicators, high-frequency ferrite core coil assemblies, and standardized M8 or M12 quick-disconnect pin connectors.
