Tripod EXPT parallel kinematic delta mechanical unit

The Festo EXPT is a tripod, a parallel kinematic mechanism with three arms driven by servo motors, offering fast and precise motion in three degrees of freedom. As a mechanical unit it is supplied without controller and motors in some configurations, and it is normally combined with Festo motors, motor controllers, and the CMXR or CODESYS-based control system. The parallel structure gives low moving mass, high dynamics, and good stiffness compared with serial robots. The working space is cylindrical and large compared with the size of the unit.
