microScan3 Core safety LiDAR scanner unit

The microScan3 Core is the basic version of the microScan3 safety laser scanner family from SICK. It monitors a flat area using a rotating laser beam with a scanning angle of 275 degrees, and switches its safety outputs when an object enters a protective field. It is certified to Type 3 under IEC 61496, SIL 2 and Performance Level d, and offers protective field ranges of about 4 m or 5.5 m depending on the version. Several simultaneous monitoring cases and field sets can be defined through the Safety Designer software, and versions with local OSSD outputs or with safe network interfaces such as PROFINET, PROFIsafe or EtherNet/IP CIP Safety are available. It is used for protecting automated guided vehicles, robot cells and machines, including area protection, access protection and hazardous point protection, in intralogistics and manufacturing.
