SX5-B safety laser scanner

The SX5-B is a safety laser scanner from Banner Engineering that protects areas around machines, robots and automated guided vehicles. It scans a 275 degree angle with a protective field radius of about 5.5 m and warning field up to a greater distance. Safety functions meet Type 3 under IEC 61496 and Performance Level d under ISO 13849. The scanner has multiple configurable protective and warning zone sets, switched with inputs or through a network, and includes outputs and a status display. Configuration is made via a PC software over Ethernet, and the unit also has measurement data output for navigation or monitoring. The B designation refers to the base model among SX5 versions with different functions such as networked options. Typical applications are area guarding of robotic cells, AGV and mobile robot safety, access control, and hazardous zone monitoring in automotive and logistics. Mounting brackets and cables are ordered separately in most cases.
