Actus Series direct-drive linear motor stage

The Actus series from Aerotech is a family of direct-drive linear motor stages designed for precision positioning and motion tasks. Direct drive means the load is moved by a brushless linear motor with no screw, belt or gearing, so there is no backlash or wear in the drive train and the stage can move quickly and smoothly. The stages use a precision linear bearing system and a linear encoder for feedback, with options for travel length, resolution and accuracy. They are driven by Aerotech controllers and amplifiers such as the Automation1 platform, which provides coordinated multi-axis motion and programming tools. Typical applications are laser processing, semiconductor and electronics inspection, medical device manufacturing, metrology, dispensing and precision assembly, where high throughput and sub-micron to micron level accuracy are needed.
