SFAB thermal flow sensor for compressed air

The Festo SFAB is a flow sensor for compressed air and non-corrosive gases, using a thermal measuring principle. It reports volumetric flow and often consumed air quantity through a built-in display and switching or analog outputs. The compact housing can be rotated, and the unit has a display with keys for setting limit values and units. Versions are available in different flow ranges and with different connection types, including push-in connectors and threaded ports. Some models offer IO-Link communication, which allows parameter setting and data readout through a control system. Typical applications include monitoring air consumption of machines, detecting leaks, checking flow in vacuum or blow-off systems, and supervising processes such as filling and cleaning. Energy management programs use such sensors to track compressed air usage.
