OS32C safety laser scanner

The OS32C is a safety laser scanner from Omron that detects intrusion into configurable warning and protection zones around a machine or vehicle. It scans a 270 degree arc using a rotating laser beam, with a protective range of about 4 m and a warning range extending further. It is rated as a type 3 safety device under IEC 61496, and supports safety category 3 and performance level d. The user configures zones with the supplied software, and the scanner can store multiple zone sets, switched via inputs or network, which is useful for AGVs that need different protective fields at different speeds. Outputs are OSSD safety outputs, and the unit offers diagnostic and measurement data output over Ethernet. The housing is rated IP65. Typical applications include automated guided vehicles and mobile robots, robot cell perimeter protection, and hazardous area guarding.
