RSL 400 safety laser scanner

The RSL 400 series is Leuze’s safety laser scanner family for stationary and mobile area protection. It scans 270° with 0.1° angular resolution, and protective field ranges of 3, 4.5, 6.25 or 8.25 m are available depending on model, with selectable detection resolutions from 30 to 150 mm. It is certified Type 3, PL d and SIL 2. Up to 100 switchable field pairs or 50 four-field sets can be stored, so field geometry can change with machine mode or vehicle speed; I/O models monitor two protective functions in parallel and PROFIsafe models four. I/O versions have two OSSD pairs, while PROFIsafe/PROFINET versions integrate a two-port switch with Conformance Class C and IRT, in copper or fibre-optic variants. Configuration and diagnostics are via Ethernet TCP/IP, Bluetooth or USB, and the RSL 425, 445 and 455P variants output distance and signal-strength measurement data for AGV navigation. Applications include access and area guarding of robot cells, presence detection inside machines and collision protection for automated guided vehicles.
