E3Z-T61 thru-beam photoelectric sensor pair

The E3Z-T61 is a thru-beam photoelectric sensor from the Omron E3Z series, supplied as a separate emitter and receiver pair. The T indicates the thru-beam sensing mode, and in the E3Z series a sensing distance of 15 m is common for the T61 type, with a red LED light source. Output is an NPN transistor, often with selectable light-on or dark-on operation by switch, and the unit has a pre-wired cable of 2 m. The housing is rated IP67, and there is an operation indicator and a sensitivity adjustment on the receiver. The thru-beam system gives the longest range and most reliable detection of opaque objects because the object interrupts the beam. Typical applications include detecting boxes and parts on conveyors, counting items, detecting people or objects entering a zone, and level detection in packaging and material handling equipment.
