M12 X-Code field-installable industrial connector

The M12 X-coded field-installable connector from TE Connectivity is a circular eight-pin connector for industrial Ethernet, supporting Gigabit Ethernet and in many versions up to 10 Gigabit rates over Cat 6A cable. X-coding provides shielding between pairs and a mechanical key that prevents mating with other coding types. The field-installable design lets installers terminate cable on site, without special crimping tools, by using screw, insulation displacement or push-in contacts inside a shielded metal housing. A threaded coupling nut gives vibration-resistant connection and IP65, IP67 or higher sealing when mated. Straight and angled versions, male and female, are available in different cable diameter ranges. Typical applications include factory automation networks, machine vision cameras, robots, drives, and transportation or process equipment where rugged Ethernet links are needed.
