SMI 050 smooth-surface right-angle worm gearboxes

The smooth, closed housing without cooling fins or protruding features avoids dirt traps and is easy to clean, particularly in food, beverage and pharmaceutical applications. The right-angle design uses a worm and wheel for high reduction in a compact space, and the unit accepts standard IEC or NEMA motors through a flange input. Output may be a hollow shaft or solid shaft, and the housing is often coated with a surface treatment such as nsd tupH for corrosion resistance. Lubrication is with synthetic oil for life. Typical applications include conveyors, filling and packaging machines, bottling lines, mixers, and washdown areas.
