The KR 10 R1420 is a member of KUKA’s KR CYBERTECH nano family of compact low-payload industrial robots (not the smaller KR AGILUS line). It is a six-axis articulated arm rated for 10 kg payload with a maximum reach of 1,420 mm and a position repeatability of ±0.04 mm, and the arm weighs roughly 160 kg. The CYBERTECH nano design uses a slim, streamlined arm with one of the smallest in-line wrists in its class and a large rear workspace, which allows dense robot placement in cells and reaching around fixtures. It can be mounted on the floor, ceiling, wall or at an angle. Supply lines can be routed internally through the arm, and the related ARC variants have a hollow wrist for welding torch packages. The KR 10 R1420 was supplied with the KR C4 or KR C4 compact controller and programmed via the KUKA smartPAD; KUKA’s current equivalent is the KR 10 R1440-2 on KR C5 controllers. Typical uses are machine tending, small-part handling, assembly, palletising of light goods, dispensing and arc welding.
