The IRB 1200-7/0.7 is a compact six-axis industrial robot from ABB with a nominal payload of 7 kg and a reach of about 0.7 m. It is one of the smallest and lightest robots in the ABB portfolio and is designed for fast, repeatable handling in tight cells. The arm is controlled by the OmniCore or IRC5 Compact controller and can be floor, wall, shelf, ceiling or tilted mounted. A hollow upper arm allows process cables and air lines to be routed internally, which reduces wear and simplifies programming of the path. Position repeatability is in the range of hundredths of a millimetre, and the compact footprint lets cells be packed densely. Protection options include a Foundry Plus variant and a clean room variant. Typical applications are machine tending, material handling, small-part assembly, screw driving, dispensing, inspection and testing in electronics, consumer goods and light industrial manufacturing. It is commonly integrated with vision systems and ABB software tools for offline programming and simulation.
