The YK400XE is a tabletop SCARA robot from Yamaha Motor’s YK-XE series. It has a total arm length of 400 mm and a payload of up to around 4 kg, and was designed for fast cycle times and compact footprint. Repeatability is about plus or minus 0.01 mm in the horizontal axes. The arm is controlled by Yamaha’s RCX series controller and is programmed in a BASIC-like language, with options for fieldbus and vision. Optional cleanroom and ESD specifications are available. Typical applications include electronics assembly, screw fastening, dispensing, inspection and pick and place of small parts in manufacturing lines.
