The IRB 910INV is an inverted SCARA robot from ABB that hangs from the ceiling of a machine or cell rather than standing on the floor. It belongs to the SCARA family introduced by ABB with the IRB 910SC and is offered with different reach options. The inverted layout keeps the work area open from below, which suits conveyor lines, small machines and compact assembly stations. It provides fast cycle times and good repeatability for light payloads, and is driven by the IRC5 or OmniCore controller with the usual ABB programming environment, including RobotStudio for simulation. The arm has four axes with a rotating wrist, and standard options include cleanroom and ESD variants for sensitive electronics. Typical applications include small parts assembly, pick and place, packaging of consumer goods, screw fastening, testing and material handling in electronics, medical device and general light manufacturing. The unit is supplied without end effector, tooling or controller unless ordered together.
