SD/BD precision miniature ball screw series

SD and BD are designations for SKF miniature ball screws, in which a rolled thread and a compact ball nut provide efficient conversion of rotary into linear motion at small sizes. The screws come in small diameters, from roughly 6 mm to 16 mm, and in lead values chosen for compact positioning and moderate loads. The ball recirculation gives much lower friction than a lead screw, which reduces drive size and heat. They are typically used with end bearings and a motor on a linear stage. Applications include medical equipment, laboratory automation, semiconductor handling, small machine tools and robotics.
