BCS 000C (BCS M18B4E1-PSC80D-S04G) capacitive sensor

The BCS M18B4E1-PSC80D-S04G is a cylindrical capacitive sensor from Balluff with an M18 housing, listed under the BCS 000C family. Capacitive sensors detect almost any material, including plastics, glass, liquids and granulates, by sensing change in the electric field. This sensor has a nominal sensing range of up to 8 mm and a PNP normally open output, with a four-pin M12 connector as indicated by the S04G suffix. The sensing range can be adjusted using a potentiometer or teach input depending on the type. The housing is nickel plated brass with IP67 protection. Typical applications are fill level detection through container walls, detection of non-metal parts, monitoring of powders or granulate in hoppers and detection of liquids in tubes, in packaging, food, pharmaceutical and plastics industries.
