CBN15-30GK60-E2 capacitive proximity sensor

The CBN15-30GK60-E2 is a capacitive proximity sensor from Pepperl+Fuchs in a M30 threaded barrel housing. The nominal sensing range of 15 mm for a flush type is given by the code, and the sensor has an adjustable sensitivity potentiometer. Capacitive sensors respond to changes in the dielectric properties in the sensing field, so they can detect not only metals but also liquids, granulates, powders, plastics, glass and wood, including through non-metallic container walls. The housing is nickel-plated brass with a plastic face, with an operating indicator LED, and protection of IP67. Typical applications include level detection of liquids and bulk solids in tanks, hoppers and silos, detecting objects in packaging, and monitoring of filling levels in bottles. The response depends on the target material, as materials with high dielectric constant, such as water, produce the longest range.
