CNE 16-Pole heavy-duty insert and enclosure

The ILME CNE series is the company’s standard range of rectangular heavy-duty connector inserts with screw terminals. The 16-pole version consists of a female insert (CNEF 16 T) and a male insert (CNEM 16 T), each carrying 16 contacts plus a protective earth contact. The inserts are rated 16 A and 500 V with a 6 kV rated impulse withstand voltage (600 V under UL/CSA), and accept conductors from 0.5 to 4 mm² (AWG 20 to 12) without ferrules. Insert bodies are self-extinguishing polycarbonate rated UL 94 V-0, and the turned contacts are silver-plated copper alloy, specified for at least 500 mating cycles. The inserts fit ILME housing size 77.27, which is offered in several enclosure families: C-type die-cast hoods and housings (IP65/IP66), V-type and C7 versions with stainless steel levers, insulating T-type housings, W-type housings for aggressive environments, EMC versions and IP68 options, in bulkhead, surface-mount or cable-to-cable configurations. A complete connector is built by choosing one male and one female insert plus a matching hood and base. Typical uses are detachable power and control connections on machine tools, robot cells, packaging machines and modular conveyor sections.
