MELSEC iQ-R Series CPU Base Module (R04CPU)

The R04CPU is the entry-level standard programmable controller CPU of Mitsubishi Electric’s MELSEC iQ-R series. It has a program capacity of 40k steps (160 kB), a basic LD instruction processing time of 0.98 ns, and handles 4,096 I/O points, with a larger device and label memory than earlier Q-series CPUs. Built-in interfaces are USB and Ethernet for programming and communication, and an SD memory card slot supports data logging and program storage. The CPU mounts in the first CPU slot of an R3xB main base unit next to an R6xP power supply, and works with the full range of iQ-R digital, analogue, motion, network and safety modules over the high-speed iQ-R backplane; multiple CPUs can share one base. It is programmed with GX Works3 using ladder, structured text, function block diagram and SFC. Larger capacity models R08CPU to R120CPU, and process, safety and network-integrated variants, share the same platform. Typical applications are mid-sized machine and line control in automotive, electronics, packaging and material handling.
