A standard 10 kg calibration and test payload block is a rigid mass used to load an industrial robot flange with a known weight and center of gravity. The block is usually made of steel or aluminium with a mounting pattern matching the robot tool flange, and a machined body with known dimensions so that the center of gravity and inertia are well defined. Some versions include lifting points and threaded holes for fastening additional weights. FANUC robots use a payload schedule to adjust acceleration and protect the reducers, so a defined test mass is helpful during commissioning and service. Typical applications include acceptance testing, preventive maintenance, training courses, and benchmarking new robot cells.
