The Festo YXCL is a Cartesian handling system arranged as a planar surface gantry, with two horizontal axes forming the X-Y plane and a vertical Z axis carrying the tool. It is built from Festo electric linear axes such as toothed belt axes and spindle axes, matched with servo motors and motor controllers, and often supplied as a pre-assembled and tested system. Customers can choose stroke lengths and axis sizes to fit the work area. The gantry is controlled by the Festo CMXR or a PLC with motion function, and offers programming through ready-made software packages. Typical applications include pick-and-place, palletizing of light parts, feeding of machines, testing stations, dispensing, and general positioning in assembly lines. The modular structure allows adaptation to different payloads and speeds, and the systems can be combined with grippers and vacuum handling from Festo.
