PSTX370-600-70 advanced solid-state soft starter

The PSTX370-600-70 is a member of ABB’s PSTX range of advanced soft starters, with a rated current of 370 A and supply voltage up to 600 V. The unit has an integrated bypass contactor, so power losses are low once the motor reaches full speed. A graphical display and keypad provide setup and diagnostics, and the starter supports several starting and stopping methods such as voltage ramp, torque control and pump stop to limit current peaks and mechanical shock. Motor protection functions include thermal overload, phase loss, locked rotor and underload protection, and the starter offers fieldbus options through plug-in communication modules. Typical applications are pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors and crushers in water, mining, oil and gas, marine and general industry, where full variable speed is not required but a gentle start is. The reduced inrush current helps to avoid grid disturbances and extends the life of couplings, belts and gearboxes.
