Altistart 48 heavy-duty soft starter

The Altistart 48 (ATS48) is a family of solid-state soft starters for three-phase squirrel-cage motors. It uses torque control to give smooth acceleration and deceleration, limiting inrush current and mechanical shock on pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors and crushers. The range covers roughly 17 A to 1200 A across 208 to 690 V supplies, and models are available in standard and heavy-duty duty classes, with the heavy-duty variants sized for longer or higher-torque starts. Built-in functions include soft stop, braking, thermal motor protection, phase loss and overcurrent detection, a bypass relay output and an integrated display and keypad. Communication options include Modbus, CANopen, Profibus DP and DeviceNet through plug-in cards. The product is typically used where full-voltage starting would cause voltage dips or damage couplings and belts, such as in water treatment, mining, HVAC and general machine building.
