SSW07 compact three-phase soft starter

The SSW07 is a compact solid-state soft starter from WEG for three-phase induction motors. It controls the voltage applied to the motor during start and stop with thyristors, limiting inrush current and mechanical stress, and reduces water hammer in pumps and belt damage in conveyors. Current ratings range from a few amperes to around 200 A or more, for supply voltages up to around 575 V. Functions include adjustable voltage ramp, current limit, pump control, kick start and motor protections such as overload, phase loss and overcurrent. A bypass contactor can be added to reduce heat in the cabinet. A keypad and communication options such as Modbus RTU allow parameter setting and monitoring, and fieldbus modules are available. Typical applications include pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors and mixers.
