STR1 transponder safety switch

The STR1 is a non-contact safety switch from SICK that uses a coded transponder for detecting the position of guard doors, covers and flaps. The coded actuator offers a high level of protection against tampering. It has a compact housing and is available in versions with a safety output pair connected to a safety relay or safety controller, and in versions with integrated diagnostic output. It can reach up to Performance Level e and Category 4 in accordance with ISO 13849-1 when used appropriately, and some versions have a series connection capability. A choice of actuators with different mounting directions permits flexible installation. It is used on machine guards, packaging machines, assembly systems and robot cell doors to prevent hazardous movement while a guard is open.
