The TLS-ZR is a tongue-operated guard locking switch from the Guardmaster range of Allen-Bradley by Rockwell Automation. A solenoid mechanism locks the tongue in the head, so a guard door can remain closed until a machine has stopped safely, or can be locked closed through an electrical release. The switch carries redundant safety contacts and an auxiliary monitoring contact, and a manual release can allow emergency exit. A rugged housing is used in industrial environments. Locking by spring or power-to-lock options exist. Typical applications include guarding of machines with run-down time, such as saws, centrifuges, packaging machines and robot cells. Protection degree and ratings depend on the version.
