AT715 ABSOLUTE Coolant Proof linear glass scale

The AT715 is Mitutoyo’s sealed absolute (ABS) linear scale for retrofitting and equipping manual machine tools with digital readouts. It uses Mitutoyo’s electromagnetic induction detection, which is insensitive to oil, coolant and dust contamination, and the absolute system means the position is known immediately at power-up with no need to return to a reference mark. The slim spar-type housing is sealed to IP67, and the sliding force is 5 N or less. Effective measuring lengths range from 100 mm to 3,000 mm (order numbers in the 539-8xx range, e.g. 539-804 for 250 mm), with accuracy of ±5 µm up to 500 mm, ±7 µm from 600 to 1,800 mm and ±10 µm from 2,000 to 3,000 mm at 20 °C. Maximum response speed is 50 m/min, and resolution is 0.5 to 10 µm depending on the counter. The scale connects with a single cable to Mitutoyo KA and KLD200 counters, with 2, 5 or 7 m extension cables available. It is used on milling machines, lathes, XY tables, grinders and jigs.
