PowerGrip GT3 Synchronous Timing Belt & Pulley System (8MGT)

The Gates PowerGrip GT3 timing belt in 8MGT profile has an 8 mm tooth pitch and a curvilinear tooth shape designed to carry high loads with low noise and little backlash. The belt is made from polychloroprene or polyurethane with fiberglass tensile cords, and it runs on matching GT pulleys, usually made of aluminium or steel. Synchronous belts transmit power without slip, keeping the relationship between driving and driven shafts constant, which is important for positioning and timing. Compared with chains, they require no lubrication and offer cleaner operation. The system is sold as belts in a range of lengths and widths, plus taper lock or bored pulleys.
