Process Performance M3BP and General Performance M2BAX three-phase motors

ABB’s M3BP is a process performance low voltage cast iron motor designed for demanding industrial duty, while M2BAX is a general performance aluminium or cast iron motor for standard machinery. Both are three-phase squirrel cage induction motors available in a wide range of frame sizes, from small units to several hundred kilowatts, in efficiency classes up to IE3 and IE4 depending on the version. M3BP motors offer extended options for bearings, insulation, protection and mounting, and are intended for use with frequency converters as well as direct on line. Typical construction includes a rugged frame with cooling fins, IP55 protection as standard, and optional encoders, brakes and thermal sensors. They are sold in common IEC mountings with foot or flange. Applications include pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors, mixers and general machinery in industries such as water, chemical, food, pulp and paper, and mining.
