The Sendix 5000 is Kübler’s compact incremental shaft encoder with a 50 mm housing; the matching Sendix 5020 is the hollow-shaft version. It uses optical scanning with resolutions up to 5,000 pulses per revolution and permits speeds up to 12,000 min-1. Shafts of 6, 8, 10, 11 or 12 mm, or 1/4 and 3/8 inch, each with a flat, are offered with clamping or synchro flange options. Output circuits are push-pull (HTL), TTL/RS422 or open collector, with supply voltages of 5 V DC, 5-30 V DC or 10-30 V DC, and outputs are short-circuit protected. Kübler’s Safety-Lock bearing design, with widely spaced bearings and a robust die-cast housing, gives tolerance to shaft loads, vibration and installation errors. Protection is IP65 to IP67 and the operating temperature range is -40 to +85 °C. Connection is by cable or M12/M23 connector. Typical uses are speed and position feedback on motors, conveyors, packaging machines, printing machines and lifting equipment.
