ECN 1325 absolute optical rotary encoder

The ECN 1325 is an absolute rotary encoder from Heidenhain with a single-turn measuring range and the purely serial EnDat 2.2 interface. It has an integrated stator coupling and a taper shaft, which allows it to be mounted directly onto the shaft end of a servo motor, giving a high stiffness connection and reducing space. The measuring principle is optical scanning of a graduated disk, and the 25-bit position value gives a very fine angular resolution. EnDat 2.2 also supports a diagnostic and temperature data via the same cable. The encoder is used as motor feedback on servo drives in machine tools, handling systems, and robotics, and Heidenhain also makes the variant with a multi-turn function in the ECN/EQN range.
