SLC440 series safety light curtain

The SLC440 is a safety light curtain series from Schmersal. It consists of a transmitter and a receiver that form an infrared barrier, interrupting machine hazards when a beam is broken. Different resolutions are available for finger, hand and body protection, with various protective heights. The series provides Type 4 protection according to IEC 61496, and can be used up to PL e and SIL 3. Functions include automatic or manual restart and contactor monitoring, and a display or LEDs help with alignment and diagnostics. Typical applications include presses, packaging machines, automated cells and assembly lines.
