F3SG-SR series safety light curtain

The F3SG-SR series is a family of safety light curtains from Omron with type 4 classification under IEC 61496, intended for protecting operators around hazardous machinery. A light curtain consists of an emitter and a receiver creating a grid of infrared beams, and if an object interrupts a beam, the safety outputs switch off, causing the machine to stop. The series offers different beam spacings, for finger, hand and body detection, with protective heights from a few hundred millimetres to over two metres. Features include muting, blanking, external device monitoring, and cascading for multiple sides. The device is designed for ease of installation, with an indicator display for alignment and diagnostics. It has OSSD safety outputs, and some versions offer IO-Link for diagnostics. Typical applications include press brakes, assembly machines, robot cells, packaging machinery and automated production lines.
