SL-V series safety light curtain

The SL-V series is Keyence’s Type 4 safety light curtain for point-of-operation and access guarding. It is rated Type 4 to IEC 61496-1/-2, SIL 3 to IEC 61508 and IEC 62061, and Category 4 PL e to EN ISO 13849-1. The F models have 10 mm beam pitch and detect 14 mm objects (finger protection) with 23 to 127 beams and up to 7 m range; the H models have 20 mm pitch and 25 mm resolution (hand protection) with 8 to 120 beams and up to 9 m; the HM models are a robust variant rated IP65/IP67, versus IP65 for standard models. ON-to-OFF response ranges from about 7 ms on short units to about 23 ms on the longest. Housings are aluminium with zinc die-cast end caps and a polycarbonate/stainless front cover. Functions include muting with two muting inputs, muting lamp output and override, interlock and reset, external device monitoring, OSSD outputs selectable PNP or NPN by cable, and auxiliary status outputs; the SL-T11R relay unit provides relay safety outputs. Units can be connected in series. Applications include press brakes, robot cell openings, packaging machinery and palletiser entries.
