BS Series Helical Worm Geared Motor Assembly

The BS series from Bauer Gear Motor is a family of helical worm geared motors that combine a helical gear first stage and a worm gear second stage, driven by a three-phase AC motor. The combination provides large reduction ratios, a compact right-angle output, and smooth, quiet running. The gearbox housing is made from cast iron or aluminium and the output shaft can be solid or hollow, with foot or flange mounting. Motors can be fitted with brakes, encoders, forced cooling fans and thermal protection, and can be used with frequency inverters. Power ratings span from fractions of a kilowatt to several kilowatts, with torque outputs rated for continuous duty. Typical applications are conveyors, hoists, mixers, packaging machines, doors and material handling equipment, where robust, simple drives are required.
