NORDBLOC.1 is a series of helical inline gear units from Nord Drivesystems with a one-piece housing, designed to be combined with an electric motor for a compact gearmotor. The housing is typically made from aluminium or cast iron with closely stepped sizes, and gear teeth are hardened and ground for high efficiency, low noise and long life. Reduction ratios cover a wide range with one, two, or three stages, and output options include solid shaft, hollow shaft and flange mounting. The unit can be combined with IE3 or IE4 efficiency motors, or with Nord frequency inverters and decentralised drive electronics, enabling energy-saving variable speed operation. Surface treatments such as nsd tupH protect against corrosion. Typical applications include belt conveyors, roller conveyors, sorting systems, storage and retrieval systems, packaging machines and general intralogistics.
