Kinetix VPL low-inertia AC servo motor

The Kinetix VPL is a family of low-inertia, brushless permanent magnet servo motors from Allen-Bradley designed to work with Kinetix servo drives. Low inertia means the rotor accelerates quickly, which is useful in applications with rapid indexing and short move times. The motors come in several frame sizes, with options for natural convection or fan cooling, different windings, shaft types, brakes and feedback devices. Feedback is usually a high resolution single or multi-turn encoder using a digital Hiperface DSL interface that allows one-cable connection between motor and drive. The housings are rated for industrial use, with sealing options for washdown. They are used with Kinetix 5500, 5700 and 6500 drives and programmed within Studio 5000 Logix Designer. Typical applications are packaging machines, converting, printing, assembly, pick and place, and other machines that need coordinated motion with high dynamics.
