ROTEX GS backlash-free flexible jaw coupling

ROTEX GS is KTR’s backlash-free version of its ROTEX jaw coupling, designed for servo drives, ball screws, encoders and other positioning drives. It consists of two hubs with concave jaws and an elastomer spider with convex teeth fitted under pre-stress, which eliminates backlash while still damping vibration and compensating radial, axial and angular misalignment. Spiders are available in five Shore hardness grades so torsional stiffness and damping can be tuned to the drive; the spider also insulates the shafts electrically. The modular system allows different hub types to be combined in one size: clamping hubs, keyed hubs, light and steel clamping ring hubs, expansion hubs, DIN 69002 and ETP hydraulic hubs, plus intermediate-shaft versions (ZR1/ZR2/ZR3/ZRS), a high-speed HP version and miniature sizes. Hubs are aluminium or steel depending on size, and the standard types cover nominal torques from 0.2 Nm up to 5,850 Nm. ATEX-certified versions are available. Typical uses are servo motor to ball screw or gearbox connections in machine tools, handling axes and packaging machines.
