Silencer Series BN23 brushless DC motor

The Moog Silencer Series is a family of brushless DC motors engineered for low acoustic noise and low torque ripple, and the BN23 is its small frame size of roughly 23 mm. It uses a slotless or low-cogging stator design with permanent magnet rotor and integral Hall-effect sensors for electronic commutation, which gives smooth rotation across a wide speed range and long brush-free life. The motors are offered in several stack lengths, with different winding options for common DC bus voltages, and can be fitted with encoders, planetary gearheads or custom shaft and connector configurations. Their low noise and vibration make them well suited to applications where operator comfort or measurement quality matters. Typical uses include surgical and dental handpieces, infusion and respiratory devices, laboratory automation, pumps, small robotic joints, camera gimbals and precision positioning mechanisms.
